Meet the Artists Event - 5.30pm Friday, 20 September at Giverny
ACAS is very excited to be hosting another “Meet the Artists" event at Giverny, 78 Lower Shotover Road, at 5:30pm on Friday 20 September.
Three Australian artists will present the work they have created during their three week residency, and talk about their response to our beautiful Whakatipu Basin.
Elisabeth Cummings has visited the area before to paint, but it’s a first “working visit” for Wendy McDonald and Pam French.
We will have some outstanding Nockie's Palette wines to enjoy — and we hope that some extraordinary new sculptures will have been installed by then!
Admission is $25 and free to practicing artists — email info@acas.nz to secure your ticket.
Plein Air art classes available now
We have started a new Plein Air painting group. The “outdoors art” group - available for you fortnightly - is led by established Arrowtown painter and tutor, Jane Burdon. It is open to both experienced artists and learners, who will paint together at appealing sites chosen by Jane.
The Plein Air group is a member service we hope can remain free. You’ll need to bring your own painting materials, but Jane is happy to advise on sourcing them locally. We appreciate painters can’t attend all sessions.
